Recently, I have received a lot of customer inquiries about how to install the polycarbonate PC board, how to fix it firmly with the skeleton, what things need to be paid attention to during installation, etc., I will feedback these problems to our engineering department, and now the problems are summarized as follows:
After the skeleton is built, how to fix the polycarbonate PC board?
After the skeleton is erected, the polycarbonate PC board is laid on the outside of the skeleton, and the joints between the polycarbonate plate and the skeleton are glued with waterproof adhesive strips (this step is for waterproofing), and then pressed with aluminum alloy strips (this step is to better fix the polycarbonate plates), and then fixed with self-tapping screws (this step is to prevent the polycarbonate PC board from being blown away by strong winds), and finally sealed with edge strips at the section of the polycarbonate plate to prevent water and dust. Follow the steps to install it and you’re OK.
How to install a polycarbonate PC board?
First, when the polycarbonate PC board is bent, it should follow the direction of the force, and must not be bent laterally. The bending radius should be the thickness of the plate: 175 times for the hollow two-layer board, 185 times for the three-layer board, and 200 times for the four-layer board. The bending radius of solid endurance plates is also less than 175 times the thickness. It is strictly forbidden to fix the bending part of the plate with screws.
Second, when installing hollow plates and solid endurance plates, at the joints between the plates and the plates, the thermal expansion gap must be reserved according to the size of the plates, and the thermal expansion coefficient is 0.065mm/m°C. If it must be crossed, it is necessary to drill an enlarged hole with a diameter greater than 100% of the diameter of the self-tapping nail or rivet in the plate, and then lower the self-tapping nail or rivet through the center of the enlarged hole to ensure that the plate can expand and contract freely in any direction.
Third, the steel structure skeleton must be installed firmly and kept balanced to avoid damage to the polycarbonate PC board due to the skeleton.
Fourth, the steel structure skeleton material must be consistent with the structural area to facilitate construction.
Fifth, the aluminum alloy bead is consistent with the thickness and area of the purchased plate, which can better protect the plate and prolong the service life.
30. Neutral silica copper glue must be used for the sealant in contact with polycarbonate PC board, and it is strictly forbidden to use alkaline, acidic, and chemically unknown sealants containing solvents. Avoid direct contact between polycarbonate PC board and chemical solvents, solutions and volatile gases, if the polycarbonate PC board support frame is sprayed with thinner diluted paint, the polycarbonate PC board must be installed only after the paint is completely dried, and it is strictly forbidden to use the paint diluted with thinner material to brush the steel skeleton of the installed polycarbonate PC board.
Seventh, the installation and fixation of polycarbonate PC board must use the company’s special anti-leakage rain upper and lower complete sets of fasteners or the company to provide a special flat strip, if the use of other companies’ flat strip must ensure that the material of the strip is EPDM rubber or butadiene rubber, it is strictly forbidden to use polyvinyl chloride (PVC), natural rubber and other substances containing harmful substances to the polycarbonate PC board strip.

When installing the polycarbonate PC board, the protective film with the text of the UV co-extrusion anti-ultraviolet layer of the board must be facing the outdoors, and it must not be reversed, and the protective film should be removed immediately after the installation is completed, so as to avoid the adhesion of the protective film and the polycarbonate PC board after sun exposure.

Before the installation of the polycarbonate PC board, the protective film should be uncovered about <>mm from the edge, and it is strictly forbidden to press the protective film under the profile, and then use a knife to cut the protective film removal method. There must be no scratches on any part of the polycarbonate PC board.
<>. The section of the polycarbonate PC board is sealed with aluminum foil tape or waterproof and breathable tape to prevent water vapor, dust and insects from entering the air, affecting the transparency and aesthetics of the polycarbonate PC board.
What should I pay attention to when installing?
(1) When installing, the construction organizer must understand the text description and precautions printed on the protective film clearly, and explain to the operator, especially pay attention to the standard of which side is facing outward. Don’t mispretend.
(2) Before installation, do not remove the protective film, only along the edge of the plate to lift the protective film about 50mm, after the installation immediately remove the protective film, if you must continue to protect the board, then remove the film first, and then cover the protective film again.
(3) The adhesive substance of the sealing material should not damage the PC board.
(4) The sealing tape should have good weather resistance, and should not lose its viscosity and mechanical strength for a long time.
(5) Do not polish or clean the PC board with strong alkali, and do not wipe the surface with a hard brush to avoid hair pulling
